Michael Massimino Stars in "Hubble3D"

10|03|10 NASA Astronaut Michael Massimino, a crew member of the last two shuttle mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope, was at the Air and Space Museum in Washington on March 9, for the world premiere of IMAX “Hubble 3D,” a filmed-in-space movie that offers an inspiring and fascinating view of the Hubble’s unique legacy and the challenges that astronauts faced when they repaired the giant telescope. You will be profoundly affected after viewing this film!

The film is narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio. Massimino is a third generation Italian American and proud of his Italian heritage. Massimino told us that in addition to bringing the Galileo telescope into space with him, he also carried the Sicilian flag, as well as biscotti baked by an Italian friend in Florida. Massimino’s grandparents were all from Sicily: three from Palermo and one from Catania.
