Jennifer Palmieri - White House Deputy Communications Director
May 14, 2012 ~ Jennifer Palmieri was in the spotlight last week as she testified at the trial of former senator and White House aspirant John Edwards. According to media reports, Palmieri lost her composure as "she tried to humanize Edwards." Palmieri served as Edwards' press secretary in his 2004 presidential campaign and was an informal advisor in his 2008 failed White House bid.
Palmieri currently serves as the White House Deputy Communications Director. Previously, she was the President of the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Prior to her time at CAP, and her work for Edwards in 2004, Palmieri was the National Press Secretary for the Democratic National Committee.
After graduating from American University, Palmieri began her career working for Congressman Leon Panetta (D-CA) and then served as Panetta's special assistant when President Bill Clinton appointed him Chief of Staff. She spent eight years in the Clinton White House - something unheard of in political circles. During her the last three years she served as a White House Deputy Press Secretary.
