The Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Washington hosted on October 22, 2008, a talk and reception to celebrate Pino Cicala's 50 years at Antenna Italia, the Italian radio program founded at the end of the 1950s. M arco Mancini, First Counselor at the Italian Embassy, Rita Venturelli, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, and Prof Luigi de Sanctis of the Embassy's Education Office, spoke warmly of Pino's contibutions to the Italian American Community in the Washington metropolitan area and to Italy. Ennio Carretto, who for many years was the Washington correspondent for Il Corriere della Sera, interviewed Pino before a filled-to capacity Embassy auditorium, about his career and his life experiences in Washigton, D.C.
